What is the difference between a "sending address" and a "receiving address"?

A sending address is a DASH address you are sending DASH from while a receiving address is a DASH address you are receiving DASH with.

A DASH address can easily be both. In fact, before the advent of BIP0032 (HD wallets) reuse of a single address for both sending and receiving was the way many wallet apps worked.
